Peter L. Tsokanis, 91, passed away peacefully at Alliance Health at Rosewood in Peabody, MA where he had been a resident for more than five years. Peter, son of Loucas and Zaferoula Tsokanis, grew up in Brockton, MA where he attended the public schools before pursuing a degree in building construction at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. Known as an outstanding track athlete during his high school days, Peter was elected to the Brockton High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000. In 2001, Peter was also inducted into the Wentworth Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding performance in football, basketball, and baseball during his time there.

Upon graduation from Wentworth, Peter Served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 and was stationed in Germany for much of his tour, serving as a Medical Radio Operator. He began his professional career as a draftsman at Shepley Bulfinch (successor to Shepley Bulfinch Richardson & Abbott) in Boston, MA. After a long career at Shepley, he became a member of the national professional association for licensed architects and ultimately established his own architectural firm, Tsokanis Architects in Stoughton, MA where he successfully practiced into his early eighties. His professional affiliations included the Massachusetts Designer Selection Board, the Brockton Conservation Commission, and the Boston Society of Architects. Peter was also active in his community, serving as a basketball coach for the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton, MA and as a member of the philanthropic organization, the Alpha Omega Council in Boston, MA.

Peter was predeceased by his wife Bessie and daughter Alexa Tsokanis. He is survived by his son Luke [Amy] Tsokanis; his grandchildren Rita and Peter J. Tsokanis; and his brother Christos [Jean] Tsokanis.

A private service was held to honor Peter's memory.
