Online Obituaries Petros A. Plessas, 86, of Brockton, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Georgia (Merianos) Plessas. Born March 14, 1927 in Athens, Greece, he was the son of the late Anthony Plessas and Despina (Kazatsidou) Plessas. Raised in Greece, Petros came to the United States in 1974. Petros served in the Greek Air Force and also worked for the American Embassy in Greece. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton. He enjoyed playing backgammon. Petros was a very generous man and always helped his family whenever he could. He is survived by his children, Despina Plessas of Lakeville, Jenny (Plessas) Kakas and her husband Dimitri N. Kakas of Sharon; his grandchild, Marianna Kakas of Sharon; his sisters, Soula Gavrilidou and Irene Roumeliotis both of Athens, Greece and his several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Harry Plessas. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday, March 17th at 10:00AM followed by a funeral service in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton at 11:00AM. The Rev. Anthony Evangelatos will officiate. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home Sunday 3:00-6:00PM.
