Philip C. Hamnquist 73 years of Brockton passed away peacefully November 18, 2010 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Patricia J. (Madden) Sweeney. Philip was born and raised in Boston the son of the late David and Eleanor (Sears) Hamnquist. Following his graduation from Walpole High School he served in the Air Force from 1955-1960. For over 20 years, he had been employed as a Sales Executive for Curtis 1000. He enjoyed traveling, talking to people, listening to Roy Orbison and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his children, Tammi Davies of Brockton, Kathy Dodenhoff of Weymouth, Scott Hamnquist of Brockton, Nancy-Jo Beck of Norton and a stepson Joseph Sweeney of Middleboro; four grandchildren, Joseph, Christopher, Ryan and Stephanie, two great grandchildren Andrew and Joseph and was the brother of Jon Hamnquist, MaryEllen Gearin, Mary-Claire Reynolds and the late David Hamnquist. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was the husband of the late Nancy R. Hamnquist.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday 1-4pm in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton with a Prayer Service at 4pm.
