It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Phillip Earl Barrows, affectionately known as Ducky, on February 4, 2025, at his family home in Middleboro, MA. He was 70 years old.

Born on August 22, 1954, Phillip was the beloved son of Joan Roderick-Bassett and the late Phillip (Philly) Barrows. Phillip

(Ducky) was a hardworking and dedicated man, he spent the majority of his adult life as a tractor-trailer truck driver, traveling the roads near and far.

Phillip (Ducky) is survived by his loving mother, Joan Bassett, and his devoted family, including his sister Lynne Lewis, his son Derek Hunt, and his daughter Nakeshia Gomes. He was a cherished grandfather to Dominic Gomes, Darnez Gomes, Dereck Hunt Jr., Derell Turner, Perry, Hunt, Devonte Hunt, Deshawn Hunt, Davani Hunt, and Shanell Chaney as well as a great-grandfather to 11 great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Phillip (Ducky's) thin presence, wisdom, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His life was one of hard work, laughter, and love for his family. In his memory, we reflect on the words of Anthony Hamilton's Walk in My Shoes, a song that resonated with his journey through life.

A celebration of Phillip (Ducky's) life will be held at a later date tentatively on his 71st birthday August 22, 2025 in Maryland. May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
