Obituary

Phyllis G. (Vinal) Russell, 92 years old of Chelmsford, died Tuesday September 13, 2011 at the Braemoor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Ernest F. Russell. Phyllis was born and raised in Somerville a daughter of the late Harold L. and Claire R. (Hasty) Vinal and was a 1938 graduate of Somerville High School. She had lived many years in Stoughton and Randolph, and most recently in Chelmsford with her daughter.
Phyllis had worked for many years in retail sales at King’s Department Store and Kresges. She was a homemaker devoted to her family and enjoyed reading, crocheting and trips with the Randolph senior center group. Phyllis will be remembered for her selective hearing, great sense of humor and love of animals.
Phyllis was the devoted mother of Barbara O’Meara of Chelmsford, Chuck Bollman of Boston, Janice Bollman of Cambridge, Pam Schulze and her husband Art of Avon and the late Bruce Bollman. She also leaves 11 cherished grandchildren Paul O’Meara, Jr., Patty O’Meara, Nancy O’Meara, Christine Cizmar and her husband Andy, Susan O’Meara, Kevin O’Meara and his wife Amy, Rachel Thompson, Hannah Rose Diamond, Steven Litchfield and his wife Shari, Milissa Litchfield, and Clayton Litchfield and his wife Sarah. She also leaves 12 great grandchildren and was the mother-in-law of Paul J. O’Meara, Sr. of Randolph and Harvey Diamond of Somerville
Graveside Services will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
