Ralph J. Chubbuck 78 years of Brockton died unexpectedly Sunday in New Hampshire. He was the husband of the late Carol Ann (Watkins) Chubbuck. He was born and raised in Boston a son of the late Leslie M. and Marjorie B. (Thomas) Chubbuck. Since 1972 he had been a resident of Brockton.
During WW II Mr. Chubbuck served in the US Navy and received the WW II victory medal, American theatre medal and the Asiatic-Pacific medal. He then served five years in the National Guard with the 26th Infantry Yankee Division.
For many years Mr. Chubbuck had been a cab driver in Boston. He had also been a bus driver for BAT.
He had enjoyed bowling for many years and most recently fishing. He had also owned a ceramic store and won several awards for his work.
He is survived by his children Ralph J. Chubbuck, Jr. of Pennsylvania; Anne Marie Leary of Canton; Christine Donovan of Arizona; Carolyn B. Hall of Norton; Dennis S. Chubbuck of Norfolk; Marie R. Wicks of Norwood; Marc Chubbuck of Canton; Lynn VanSlyke of Oregon; Laurie and Susan Chubbuck both of New Hampshire; Paul Chubbuck of Brockton; Ralph J. Chubbuck, III of New York and the late Michael S. Chubbuck.
He also leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday at 2 pm in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
