Obituary

Ralph William Macdonald, 75, of Brockton passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of 55 years of Constance (Almodovar) Macdonald. Born August 4, 1943 in Milton, MA he was the son of the late Gerard and Ethel (Slack) Macdonald. He was a graduate of Boston College and served honorably in the United States Marines Corps. Ralph was proud of the life of service he led. He was an altar boy for St. Agatha's Parish in Milton, a eucharistic minister and CCD teacher for the former St. Margaret's Church in Brockton. He served many capacities for the Downey Little League in Brockton and was instrumental in the development of its challenger division for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges. Mr. Macdonald was employed as a public accountant and had his own business since 1990. Prior to that he worked for the former Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. and he was a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents and Public accountants. In addition to his wife Constance, he is survived by his children; Kathleen L. (Macdonald) McAndrews and her husband Glenn of Lebanon, Ohio, James M. Macdonald and his wife Laura of Brockton and Christopher S. Macdonald and his wife Carolyn of Weymouth; Six grandchildren, Ryan McAndrews, Kelly McAndrews, Candice Macdonald, Alyssa Macdonald, Benjamin (USN) Macdonald and Caitlyn Macdonald; his siblings, Mary Dawson, Richard Macdonald, Regina Moriarty, Ethel McClelland, Anna Biron, Virginia Polio, Clare Burns and Gerard J. Macdonald. He is also survived by a large extended family and close friends. He was the father of the late Gerard E. Macdonald and the brother of the late, Helen Parlon and Margaret Nelson. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St.,(Rt.123) Brockton on Saturday at 9:30AM thence to Christ the King Parish, 54 Lyman St., Brockton where a funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 10:30AM. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Calling hours Friday 4:00 to 8:00PM
