Raymond C. Franco, 90, of South Easton, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Brockton VA Medical Center after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Emma (Grimaldi) Franco for 59 years. Born July 14, 1928 in Fall River, he was the son of the late Manuel Franco and Mary (Mederios) Franco. He served in the United States Navy. Ray was a retired Draftsman and had worked for Bechtel Company, Stone & Webster Company and Charles T. Main Company. He also had worked at Seabrook, NH and Plymouth, MA nuclear power plants. He had been a Brockton resident for 21 years before moving to South Easton for the last 40 years. He was a member of Thorny Lea Golf Club, Brockton YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club. Ray was an avid golfer, reader and was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife, Emma (Grimaldi) Franco; his nieces, Anne (Francis) Ferreira of Taunton and Mary-Ellen Smiley and her husband David of Brockton; he is also survived by several cousins. He was the brother of the late Dennis Franco and brother-in-law of the late Teresa Grimaldi, Josephine Grimaldi and Richard Grimaldi. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Friday, July 20th from 10:00AM-12:00PM followed by a funeral service at 12:00PM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
