Rebecca O. Oji, age 78 of Randolph, died January 15, 2019 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Milton. She was born and raised on Nkporo, Nigeria, a daughter of the late Ilum and Uzu Eme. Rebecca attended Presbyterian Church School and later became a chef at Etitiama High School in Nkporo, Nigeria .
Rebecca immigrated to United States in 2010 and had been a resident of Randolph for the past 2 years. She was an elder and very involved in the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, earning several awards with the Women’s Guild and Christian Girls in Training.
She enjoyed reading the bible, but what gave her the most enjoyment in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and family members.
Rebecca is survived by her children, Ugwa and Eleanya of Brockton, Chukwu of Randolph, Mba, Akpala and Uka Oji all of whom reside in Nigeria; grandchildren, Treasure, Faith, Samuel, Gift, Destiny, Emmanuel, Rebecca C., Opanwa, Rebecca A., Eberechi, Chinedu and Prince; 2 sisters Ibuo Anya and Jemima Uwom, both of whom reside in Nigeria; nephews Ojukwu David of Dorchester and Ejem David of Brockton.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton, Saturday February 9, from 11am to 1pm with a funeral home service from 1-3pm. Burial will be held at a later date in Nkporo, Nigeria. Donations in Rebecca’s name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 270 Franklin St, Quincy, MA, 02169.
