Elder Lee Harmon was born August 19, 1939 to the late Essie Mae and Robert Harmon in Mounb Bayou Mississippi.
Lee grew up in Mississippi where he completed his High School Education graduating from the Richland Vocational High School in Holmes County. Upon completing High School, he attended the CMC College in Attala County Mississippi where he received his Associate Degree in Education.
He also received his Real Estate License in Massachusetts. In his eagerness to learn The Word of God, he studied and achieved his Doctrine Degree in Ministry in Massachusetts.
His great love and compassion for children lead him to become a teacher at the Paul Dever Hospital of Taunton and Waltham Massachusetts for Mental Challenged students.
In his desire for a wife, he met and married Frances in 1962. Seven children were born to this union. In search for a better Career, they moved to Brockton, Massachusetts where they united with the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church of Brockton and served faithfully for many years.
He later became the pastor of Zion Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, Brockton, Mass. serving several years under Superintendent Roy Owens. He later joined the Bethesda Healing Temple COGIC under Elder Bobby Cheers, serving faithfully as an associate Elder and was a member in good standards and fellowship until his demise.
Elder Harmon loved God, and he loved people. He was always busy, endeavoring to tell everyone he met that God loves them, and He wanted to save them from their sins.
The World lost someone very special, "A Voice Crying in The Wilderness". The Church lost a good soldier in battle. One, "On the Battlefield Fighting for The Lord".
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Frances of 51 years. his six children Jerry Lee Harmon, Jessie M. Davis, Mae McLaughlin, Darlene (Bernice) Harmon, Tommie Harmon, Davie Harmon, and one step son, Robert Stovall. He has one son David Harmon preceded him; two sons-in-law, Frank Davis and William McLaughlin, of Massachusetts; eighteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two sisters and one brother; Bennie Wise of Mississippi, Bobbie Moses and Walter Harmon of Brockton, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 in the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, 441 Main St., Brockton at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Wednesday 4:00-8:00PM.
