Obituary

Rhoda E. (Donahue) Brady, age 84, of Brockton, died February 13, 2013 at New England Sinai Hospital following a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late John M. Brady. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Irvena (Raymond) Donahue. Rhoda had been employed for many years at Knapp Shoe Company and as a driving instructor for Brockton Auto School. A selfless and generous woman, she was devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking for everyone and also enjoyed reading. For 46 years she and her family spent summer vacations at Sebago Lake in Maine.
Rhoda was the loving mother of John P. Brady and his wife Christine of Raynham and Elizabeth Ann Merkin of Brockton; loving grandmother to Ryan, Emily and Torin Brady and Garrett Merkin; loving great grandmother to Mason and Cameron Brady and Isabella Parker. She was the loving sister of Joseph Sullivan of Cape Cod, Shirley DeSisto of Attleboro, Margaret Fontaine of Yarmouth, Brenda Springer of Berkley and the late Henry Donahue. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Sunday 2-6pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Monday at 8am for a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church at 9am. Burial will be at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
