Ricardo Rodrigues Pires, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, departed this life at home surrounded by his loving family on September 28, 2024, at the age of 91.

Born on September 23, 1933, in the charming town of Fajazinha, Fogo, Cabo Verde, Ricardo was the son of the late Joao R. Pires and the late Rosalia Depina. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Domingas (Antunes) Pires, and is survived by three brothers and a sister who cherished him dearly.

Ricardo's legacy continues through his 8 devoted children, Antonio "Ricardinho", Raul, Samuel, Ana "Nhanha", Maria de Lurdes "Luluxa", Carlita, Manuel "Fidjinho" and Luciano "Lucianinho". He also leaves 14 adoring grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews all of whom he loved unconditionally. Known affectionately as "Dono" or "Papa," he was a man of unwavering faith. He watched Mass live on tv and he received holy communion at home and prayed rosary daily until his final moments.

Ricardo's warm spirit and infectious smile lit up every room he entered. He was a loving and caring presence in the lives of all who knew him, and his kindness and generosity will be remembered by many.

Visitation will be held at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, located at 165 Belmont Street, Brockton (Rt 123), on Sunday, October 6th, from 5 PM to 8 PM. A funeral Mass will take place at St. Edith Stein Church, 71 E Main Street, Brockton, on Monday, October 7th, at 10:00 AM, with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, 163 N Cary Street, Brockton, MA 02302.
