Obituary

Richard N. “Dick” Bergeron, Sr., age 90 of Brockton, died peacefully on July 6, 2021. Dick was the loving husband for 63 years of Julieta (de la Concha) Bergeron whom he met while teaching in Nevada. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Norman S. and Margaret F. (Jones) Bergeron. Dick was a graduate of Stonehill College and received his Master’s degree from Bridgewater State College. For six years he enjoyed teaching in Nevada; he later taught at Silver Lake Regional High School for 30 years.

He was an avid tennis player and reader and enjoyed basketball, travel and motorcycles. He could also be found handing out intricately decorated pens he created to everyone he met.

Dick was the proud father of four sons: Rick and his wife Joanne of Brockton, Michael and his wife Jane of Medway, DJ and his wife Carey of Medway and Chris and his girlfriend Cherie of Brockton. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Matt, Eric, Marc, Kevin, Alex, Lana, Beatrice and Max, and a great grandson Micah. He was the brother of Sally Reardon and her husband John and the late Gail Heape and Marylou Sergio. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Private burial will be held at Coweeset Cemetery, Brockton.
