In Loving Memory

Richard was born in Brockton, MA on August 22, 1938. He grew up in Middleboro, Class of 1956 and joined the Massachusetts National Guard at age 18, where he served a total of 41 years. He worked for the USP&FO in Natick, MA which was a supply depot for the National Guard. He was called to active duty and served with the 211th Field Artillery National Guard as a first sergeant and supported the 101st Airborne in Vietnam. He retired from the USP&FO National Guard as a Chief Warrant Officer 4.

Richard loved being outside in warm weather and spent over 20 years in Palm Bay, Florida. He was a traditional snowbird who always considered Lakeville to be his favorite place to call home. While in Florida, he volunteered with the Palm Bay Community Police for 5 years. In his free time, he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports and dance, traveled as often as possible, loved "baths" in the pond, and stopped at most east coast casinos from Massachusetts to Florida. Richard was a compassionate, thoughtful husband and father who loved his family unconditionally. His random acts of kindness, playful spirit, and vibrant laugh will be cherished in our hearts forever.

Visiting hours will be held at Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 17 Main Street, Lakeville, (Rt105) on Thursday, June 29th, from 4:00-7:00PM.
