Obituary

Richard P. “Bugsy” Abaire, 70 years of Brockton, formerly of South Boston, died March 29, 2009 at the Brockton Hospital following a lengthy illness. Husband of Sally (Muggridge) Abaire. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Francis and Geraldine (McMorris) Abaire. He was raised and educated in Roxbury; had been a resident of South Boston for many years and a resident of Brockton for the past four years. Bugsy had been employed at various Produce Markets in Chelsea for many years, retiring in 2007.

He is also survived by his children Michael Abaire of New Hampshire, David Lindsay-Abaire and his wife Christine of New York and Janet Bennett and her husband Brian of Brockton; grandchildren Christopher and Danielle Abaire, Brenden and Tayla Bennett and Nicholas and Cooper Lindsay-Abaire, and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday 2-5pm with a Funeral Service at 5pm. Donations in Bugsy’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1115 W. Chestnut Street, #301, Brockton, MA 02301, for online donations click here
