Cipitelli
March 2, 1944 – August 13, 2024
Richard V. Cipitelli, 80, of Bridgewater, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at the Morton Hospital in Taunton, surrounded by family. He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Burns) Cipitelli who he adored for over 44 years.
Born March 2, 1944 in Brookline, he was the son of the late Alexander Cipitelli and Vivian (Eldridge) Cipitelli. Raised in South Boston, he graduated from Boston Trade School.
Richard ("Chippy") was a proud member of the Local #17 Sheet Metal Workers Union for 60 years, during which time he worked in the MBTA Everett bus yard for over 25 years. He enjoyed cooking for his work crew several times a year at company gatherings. When he wasn't working, Richie could often be found working on a home improvement project.
Richie enjoyed going to Sullivan's and walking the "sugarbowl" at Castle Island. He was an avid Boston sports fan, especially the Celtics and the Patriots.
He is survived by his wife Carol Anne (Burns) Cipitelli; his children, Richard Cipitelli, Robert Cipitelli, Ronald Cipitelli, Charlette Robichaud, David Cipitelli, Michelle Robichaud and the late Gina Saucier, as well as 17 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren who fondly called him "Yaya". He is also survived by his sister, Vivian Bannister and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday August 19th from 3-7pm at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (RT28) West Bridgewater. Funeral services from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home will be Tuesday, August 20th at 9:00AM thence to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Mount Prospect Cemetery, Bridgewater.
In lieu of flowers please feel free to send donations in Richard's name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station, PO Box#4777, New York, NY 10163. Due to severe allergies, please omit flowers.
