Johnson of Brockton, October 14, 2003, Richard Johnson, 68 years. Husband of Genevieve A. (Jacobs) Johnson. Father of Deborah Kyser of Brockton, Shirley Rich of Lakeville and Christine Johnson of Brockton. Loving grandfather of Michelle, Evan and Eric Kyser and Abigayle and Emma Rich.

Prayer Service in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 7:30 pm. Visitation Thursday 4 to 7:30 pm.

Mr. Johnson died Tuesday at the Brockton Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Brockton, son of the late Jonathan Johnson, Sr. and Alberta (Nickerson) Johnson. Remained a lifelong resident of Brockton. Before his retirement he was employed by Tamfelt Corp. in Canton. Previously he worked as a groundskeeper at Thorny Lea Golf Course. Mr. Johnson was an avid outdoorsman he loved hunting, fishing and four wheeling. He was proud of his American Indian heritage and enjoyed attending local Pow Wow gatherings. He was also enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Genevieve A. (Jacobs) Johnson, three daughters. Deborah Kyser of Brockton, Shirley Rich of Lakeville and Christine Johnson of Brockton, 5 grandchildren, Michelle, Evan and Eric Kyser and Abigayle and Emma Rich, a sister, Patricia Cherry of Whitefield, NH, three brothers, Douglas Dugan of Whitefield, NH, Jess Johnson of Warner, NH, and Robert Johnson of Booneville, NY and many nieces and nephews.
