Online Obituaries Richard Deacon Leedberg, of Brockton, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016 at the age of 77. He was the husband of the late Joan (Eidson)(Crocker) Leedberg. Richard was born to his late parents, Oscar Leedberg and Theresa (Maiellano) Leedberg on January 17, 1939 in Brockton. He was raised and educated in Brockton. He served in the United States Navy. Deacon worked at General Dynamics Shipyard and later Matthews Garage in Brockton, as a mechanic. He is survived by his son, Rick Leedberg and wife Karen Lenoci Leedberg; his daughter, Lisa Leedberg Corriveau and husband Mark; his daughter, Ashley Crocker. He is also survived by his brother Robert Leedberg and wife Marilyn Johnston Leedberg; his sisters, Lorraine Leedberg Smith and her husband Robert; and Linda Leedberg Rivella; his sister-in-law Carol Leedberg; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter Wendy Crocker Sullivan; his sister Maryann Leedberg Homer and his brother Raymond Leedberg. Funeral Information Following cremation, a Memorial Gathering will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) BROCKTON on Saturday, July 23rd from 12:00-2:00PM. Private interment in the VA National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Brockton Veterans Hospital, 940 Belmont St. Brockton, MA 02301. There will be a celebration of life at the Bertocci Memorial Club, at 594 Montello Street Brockton, MA after the wake from 2:30 to 4:30pm.
