Obituary

Richard F. Lehan, 88 years, lifelong of Brockton, died June 7, 2011, at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of the late Estelle E. (Leonard) Lehan and son of the late Edward and Mary (McLane) Lehan. Richard was a 1941 graduate of Brockton High School and a veteran of WWII who served with the Army’s 324th Field Artillery Battalion in Normandy, Northern France and Central Europe. He had been employed at the Hingham Shipyard and retired from the Main Brockton Post Office in 1987 after 27 years. An avid artist, he enjoyed painting portraits, landscapes and still life. A resident of the Guardian Center for the past several years, he enjoyed the patient activities. He was also an avid sports enthusiast, member of the VFW and communicant of St. Patrick Church.

He is survived by two sons Gary R. Lehan of Brockton and David E. Lehan and his wife Rhonda of Plymouth; two grandchildren James and Stephanie Lehan; a brother Edward Lehan and his wife Kay of Norton; a sister Frances Buckley of Brockton and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John Lehan and Mary Elizabeth Kelleher.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday 9:30 to 10:30am. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church at 11am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
