Obituary

Richard E. Masefield, age 72, of Plainville, formerly of Bridgewater, died on March 21, 2024 at Lincoln Woods Rehabilitation and Health Center in North Providence, RI. Richard was the son of the late Richard E. and Dorothy A. (Condon) Masefield. Born and raised in Brockton, he was a graduate of Brockton High School.

Richard worked for many years in the trucking industry. He was hardworking and faithful to his Catholic faith. Richard was happiest when landscaping and working in his yard.

Richard is survived by his children Colleen M. McCarthy of Garden City, NY, Kelly A. Masefield of Abington, MA and Karen R. Gallagher of Berkley, MA and by his grandchildren Annemarie and Maren McCarthy and Owen and Carter Gallagher. He was the brother of Theresa Terrio of Taylors, SC, William Masefield of Florida and the late Kerry and Brian Masefield. He is also survived by his former wife Patricia A. (Koury) Masefield and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, in Christ the King Church, 54 Lyman Street, Brockton at 10:30am followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours are omitted.
