Richard M. "Mickey" Mooney Richard "Mickey" M. Mooney, 79, of Brockton, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at St. Joseph Manor in Brockton, where he was lovingly cared for by all of the wonderful staff members. Born April 21, 1932 in Brockton, he was the son of the late James A Mooney and Eileen (Cavanaugh) Mooney. Raised in Brockton he attended St. Patrick School. Richard was a decorated United States Marine Corp Korean War Veteran. He was the recipient of 3 Bronze Stars and 3 Purple Hearts. He is survived by his loving son, Paul Mooney and his wife Lisa Hollingsworth-Mooney of East Bridgewater; his grandsons, Daniel and Mitchell of Whitman; his siblings, Arlene Courtney of New Hampshire, Joyce Parker of Brockton and Jacqueline Cheney of California; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Patricia, James, Edward and Arlen Mooney. Funeral Information A private funeral was at the Massachusetts VA National Cemetery, Bourne with full military honors.
