Richard E. Piantoni, 83, of Middleboro and formerly of Brockton, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Post Acute Care in Brockton. He was the husband of Anna (Coe) Piantoni.

Born February 18, 1942, in Brockton, he was the son of the late Steve Piantoni and Rita (Cormier) Piantoni. Raised in Brockton, he graduated from Brockton High School in 1961and then received an Associates Degree in Fire Science from Massasoit Community College and also an Associates Degree in Engineering from Franklin Institute of Boston.

Dick worked at RCA as an Electronics Engineer for 6 years and then joined the Brockton Fire Department and retired as Lieutenant after 32 years of service to the City.

He enjoyed Ham Radios, scuba diving, visiting amusement parks with his family, model train enthusiast, traveling, astronomy, visiting country fairs with his wife and enjoyed watching Western movies.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Karen Benvissuto and Brian Piantoni and his wife Jennifer; his grandchildren, Kristen Benvissuto, Michael Benvissuto, Cory Piantoni and Eric Piantoni. He was the brother of the late Stephen Piantoni.

Per his request, all funeral services will be private.
