Obituary

Richard P. Stanton Richard P. Stanton , 74, of Brockton, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Kindred Specialty Hospital in Stoughton after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of Carol M. (Denley) Stanton. Born July 27, 1936 in Quincy, he was the son of the late Patrick Stanton and Margaret (Doyle) Stanton. Raised in Quincy and Marshfield he graduated from Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree and attended Merrimack College. Mr. Stanton was a long time employee of the Boston Globe, working in the maintenance department for more than 40 years. Dick was a very active communicant of St. Edward's Church in Brockton where he founded St. Edward's Food Pantry. He enjoyed going to daily mass at the Chapel of Our Savior at Westgate Mall and was past president of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary's Church in Quincy. Dick enjoyed summering in Marshfield and was an avid sports fan. He has been a Brockton resident for over 40 years. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Carol M. (Denley) Stanton of Brockton, his children, Patrick W. Stanton and his wife Tanya of West Bridgewater, Daniel M. Stanton and his wife Dawn of Shrewsbury, Timothy R. Stanton and his wife Jennifer of Marshfield and Matthew M. Stanton and his wife Cara of Brockton; he is also survived by his grandchildren, Stephanie, Patrick, Riley and Quinn Stanton. He was the brother of the late John Stanton and Margie Stanton. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Saturday, July 2nd at 9:30AM thence to St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 10:30AM. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Friday 4:00-8:00PM.
