Obituary

Richard J. Tortorella 82, a lifelong resident of Brockton, died April 21, 2012. He was born in Brockton to the late Nicholas and Elvira (Stranges). He was a graduate of Brockton High School class of 1948. Following high school Richard joined the Army and proudly served our country during the Korean Conflict. He was a clerk for Amtrak working from So. Station for many years retiring in 1992. He was an avid reader and enjoyed building model railroads.
He is survived by his brother Donald Tortorella of Brockton and sister Julia Baranowski and her husband Henry of Hawthorne, CA as well as a niece Donna Baranowski.
A funeral procession will form from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 8AM for a funeral mass in Christ the King Parish/St. Colman Church at 9AM. Visitation will be prior to the mass. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
