Rita "Licy" Lizette (Valentin) Correa of Roxbury, MA, passed away suddenly the day after Thanksgiving (her favorite holiday of all time!) on Friday, November 25th, 2022 after battling uterine cancer for 3 years and 9 months.

Rita was the only child between the late Juan Valentin and late Josephine "Josefina" Torres, She was born on February 11, 1961 in Caguas, Puerto Rico. Rita was raised in the Bronx, New York City since she was 3 years old until she was 17 years old. She then married her childhood sweetheart, Wilson Correa, and moved to Boston, MA. They both had 4 children together.

Rita was an essential healthcare worker in the Boston, MA Medical District for over 32 years. Most recently, she was the Senior Medical Assistant at Brigham & Women's Hospital and Southern Jamaica Plain Healthcare Center in Boston, MA.

She thoroughly enjoyed being a Mom, and spending time with her children and especially her grandson, Arturo. She loved cooking and baking, taking pictures at all family events, buying festive sheet cakes from BJ's or Costco for every single-family function, and making plans for household and art projects. She had the best smile and joyous laugh one has ever heard. She was the most giving and generous person in the world, loved hard, and cared deeply for others.

Rita was proud of many things in her life. However, she was most proud of her kids.

Rita leaves behind her children: Lynette Correa-Velez (Chicago, IL), Emily Correa (Chicago, IL), Jason Correa (Orlando, FL), and Lilybeth Correa (Roxbury, MA). Her son-in-law: Dr. Angel Velez, Lynette Correa-Velez's husband. Her only grandchild: Arturo Velez, son of Lynette and Dr. Velez. Her ex-husband and father of their 4 children, Wilson Correa. Her siblings from her mother's side: Manuel Feliciano, Victoria "Vicky" (Torres) Laboy, Sarai Torres, and Anna "Anita" Torres. Her siblings from her father's side of the family: Dagmar Valentin, Rosanna Valentin, Carlos Valentin, Kareh Valentin, and Lluvia Del Mar Valentin and countless cousins, nieces, and nephews.
