Online Obituaries Rita M. ONeil, 85, of North Attleboro, died Monday, November 3, 2014 as a resident of Madonna Manor where she received loving care. She was the wife of the late John E. ONeil. Born August 23, 1929 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Murphy. She had been a Bridgewater resident for 5 years and had previously lived in Sandwich for 16 years and in Westwood. Rita loved animals, she had cats all her life and if she had a favorite, it was Sam. She is survived by her children, John S. ONeil and his wife Ann of Norton and Mary F. ONeil of Oregon; her grandchildren, John J. ONeil and Monica Vela, Todd M. ONeil and his wife Lynne, and Kelly A. Connell and her husband John; her great grandchildren, Delaney and Ashlyn; her sister, Claire Hetherman of California. She was the sister of the late Sonny and John Murphy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Calling hours will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Friday from 9:00-11:00AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45PM.
