Rita Ritucci
Rita Marie (Paone) Ritucci 71, loving wife and mother, and a lifelong resident of Brockton, died at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday May 25th after a long and courageous battle against illness. She was the beloved wife of Don Ritucci for 48 years.
She was born in Brockton, May 8, 1939, and was a daughter of the late Giovanni and Maria Paone. Rita was a graduate of the Brockton High School Class of 1957 and the Chandler Secretarial School in Boston. Mrs. Ritucci retired in 2008 as a 20-year employee of Sears.
She was actively involved in a number of community groups including the Catholic Mothers Club, Brockton High School Band Boosters, Brockton High School Parent Advisory Council and Our Lady of Lourdes parish council. Rita was one of the first female Eucharistic ministers of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.
Although an unassuming personality, Rita had a warm, honest and special way of touching the lives of many people, including her family, friends, and people she recently met. She had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.
She was an avid reader who enjoyed going out to dinner, movies, theater and spending time with family and friends. Rita also loved to prepare Italian foods for her family.
Rita, a.k.a. Nana, was the proud grandmother of her grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and Mackenzi Curtin, and Mason Rober. In addition, she was loved by her four-legged grandcanine, Cindy Lou.
Besides her husband Don, Mrs. Ritucci is survived by her four children, Sheryl Curtin and her husband Bob of East Bridgewater, Laura Rober and her husband Jim of Brockton, Don Ritucci of New York, NY, and Nicole Govoni and her husband Kevin of Millbury.
Predeceased by her brother George Paone, she is survived by her sisters Marianna Fortin, and Theresa Kelley, her brothers John and Nicholas Paone and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Thursday, June 3rd at 8:00AM thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 433 West St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 9:00AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Wednesday, June 2nd from 4:00-8:00PM.
