Higgins, of Brockton, October 4, 2003, Robert R. “Bob” Higgins, 60 years, son of the late Milton R. and Lila F. (Eldridge) Higgins and brother of Roland F. Higgins, Sr. of Taunton, Ralph D. Higgins of Brockton, Barbara Travers of Brockton and Suzanne Sappier of Canada and the late Virginia Lovell.
Funeral Service in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 9:30am. Visitation 8:30-9:30 prior to the service. Burial in Coweeset Cemetery, Brockton.
Obituary Information
Robert R. “Bob” Higgins, died Saturday evening at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Brockton, the son of the late Milton R. and Lila F. (Eldridge) Higgins, he had been a lifelong resident, a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1961. He was employed as a steel cutter and welder by New Can Company of Holbrook, and was a member of Local 588, New England Joint Board, AFL-CIO. He was a spectator of stock car racing and had been a stock car driver on ice in New Hampshire. He enjoyed playing billiards and cribbage. He had been a volunteer worker at the Bay Pointe Rehabilitation Center, Brockton. His cousin Rev. David Eldridge, Pastor of Wood River Baptist Church Wyoming, RI will conduct the service.
He is survived by two brothers Roland F. Higgins, Sr. of Taunton, and Ralph D. Higgins of Brockton, two sisters Barbara Travers of Brockton and Suzanne Sappier of Canada, many nieces nephews and cousins, and also great nieces nephews and cousins.
He was the brother of the late Virginia Lovell.
