Robert Boucher

d. March 15, 2026

Brockton

Robert Andrew Boucher, age 94, of Brockton, MA, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was a warrior until the end, and we pray he has found peace.

Bob was born in Pawtucket, RI in 1931. After high school he joined and Navy and served during the Korean War. After discharge from the Navy he attended the University of Rhode Island (class of 1959), where he met his wife, Judith A. Meunier. He joined Theta Chi fraternity, where he made many lifelong friends. Bob and Judy were married in 1961 and got busy building a family (Deb, Mark, Michelle (Suzy) and Brian), and a life in Brockton, MA. Officially designated as the person in charge of “get(ting) these kids out of my hair!” he spent a lot of time playing with his kids. He loved taking them to the park to feed the ducks, was a master snow fort architect, had wicked aim during snowball fights, and was a next level hide-and-seeker. He also taught them how to throw, catch, swing, shoot, and most importantly, box out. He played basketball every week in the “over 30” pickup league at West Junior High until he was 65. As he got older, he switched to golfing with his sons and friends, playing pickleball in Florida, and beating everyone at tennis and racquetball.

He was an insurance man his whole career. In 1986, at the age of 55, he started Boucher Insurance Agency with his wife and sons in South Boston, and in 1997 they started a second agency called Lighthouse Insurance Agency. The agencies were very successful, and just about every cabbie in Boston knew him. After finally retiring in 2004, he and his wife hit the “retired life” hard, getting a place in Florida, going on cruises, and, in Bob’s case, golfing often. He had a great life, one he can be proud of – a close-knit family, lifelong friends and frat brothers, a satisfying business, and an active retirement. He did it right.

To his children he was Dad, to his wife and friends he was Bob or Bobby, to his grandchildren he was Pepere, and to his employees at Boucher Insurance and Lighthouse Insurance he was just “CEO”. Many people will miss him. They will miss the warm smile that went right up into his twinkling blue eyes, his easy laugh, sharp wit, friendliness, charm, and dapper appearance. He was a role model for how to be a successful man – loving, accepting, kind, playful, and gracious. He is leaving a hole in many hearts.

Bob is preceded in death by his son Mark Robert (2015) and wife Judith (2018). He is survived by his children Debra Boucher (Brockton, Ma), Brian Boucher and his wife Amy (West Bridgewater, MA), Michelle O’Brien and her husband Grady (Fort Collins, CO), and daughter-in-law Patricia Boucher (North Easton, MA). His 8 grandchildren will forever miss their Pepere – Kendyll Boucher, Jake Boucher, Hannah Boucher, Claire O’Brien, Cole O’Brien, Abbie Boucher, Ren O’Brien, and Mason O’Brien.

There will be no wake or funeral services. The family will have a Celebration of Life later this year.
