Obituary

Online Obituaries St. John 11:25,26 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that beliveth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Beliveth though this? ROBERT CLEMENT BRADSHER, the son of the Late John and Cynthia (Coley) Bradsher, was born on October 12, 1921 in Roxboro, NC. He was the third youngest of six (6) children. His siblings, in birth order were: Charles (Jail) Torraine, Eddie, Samuel, Linwood and Christine. All predeceased him except Linwood. Robert departed this life on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, MA. ROBERT was reared in a Christian home and at an early age was baptized and became a member of Mill Hill Baptist Church. He was active in Sunday School and Church. Robert was educated in Roxboro and graduated from Person High School. ROBERT joined the United States Army and served in World War II from 1942 to 1946. After honorably serving, he was discharged and returned home. Shortly afterwards, he felt an urge for more and relocated to Washington, DC. It was there that the met and married, Charlotte. From that union, one son, Robert Bradsher, Jr. was born. Both preceded him in death. Again feeling the urge to travel, Robert relocated to Brockton, MA After working tirelessly for the US Postal Service in Washington, DC; he transferred his position to Brockton, MA. After more than 35 years of faithful and dedicated service in DC and Massachusetts, he retired. ROBERT, fondly referred to as RC or Brad by family and friends, was a pleasant person with a great sense of humor. He loved to laugh. He loved life and was admired by all who knew him. Robert leaves a vacancy in all of our hearts accompanied by a wealth of precious memories. RCs memory will be cherished by a loving granddaughter, Robin Bradsher of Washington, DC; one brother, Linwood Bradsher of Englewood, NJ; one sister-in-law, Estelle Bradsher of Washington, DC; a dedicated friend, Judy Montella of Brockton, MA, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. AWAY I cannot say, and I will not say, That he is dead. He is just away! With a cherry smile, And a wave of the hand, He has wandered into an unknown land, And left us dreaming how very fair, It needs to be, since he lingers there. Think of him faring on, as dear, In the love There as the love of Here: Think of him still as the same, I say: He is not dead he is just Away! Lovingly Submitted, The Family Funeral Information A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 in the New Life Christian Church, 184 West Elm St., Brockton at 11:00AM.
