Dr. Robert Freccero, of Middleboro, a dentist in Brockton for over 50 years died on Monday June 5, 2023, after a brief illness at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Mary Lou (Cashman) Freccero.

Born in Lawrence, Mass, he was the son of the late Bernard and Enis (Campanini). The family moved to Brockton at an early age. Bob graduated from Coyle High School in 1958, where he was a captain and quarterback of the undefeated football team of 1957. Bob graduated from Boston College and Georgetown University School of Dentistry. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam in 1967-68, receiving the Combat Medical Badge for his duty.

He returned to his hometown of Brockton and established his dental practice in the same office as his brother, the late Dr. Francis Freccero, a family practitioner in Brockton for over 50 years. Bob also worked alongside his nephew, Dr. Edward Freccero, an internist, for many years in the office.

Bob and Mary Lou lived in Brockton and Duxbury and had many friends in both communities. They enjoyed many family gatherings and social gatherings over the years. They enjoyed traveling all over the world with friends. Bob or "Booch," as he was known, liked sports and had many dear friends at the Brockton YMCA, and local golf courses, including Harmon Golf Club and the Brockton Country Club. He coached baseball for many years in the Brockton Pony League and for the Brockton American Legion Post 35. He coached youth sports in Duxbury for many years as well. As time went on, he enjoyed cooking at home for friends and family, playing golf with friends, and spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored. Bob and Mary Lou also enjoyed spending the winter months in Naples, FL at Cedar Hammock with many old friends from Brockton and new friends alike.

Besides his loving wife Mary Lou, Bob leaves his sons Brian Freccero and his wife Jessica, David Freccero, MD and his wife Gina, and Craig Freccero, DDS and his wife Petronela. He also leaves many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
