Robert H. Gordon, 75, of Middleboro, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2013 at Hearthstone at Heights Crossing in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Judith (Williams) Gordon.
Born July 2, 1938 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia he was the son of the late Robert G. Gordon and Louise (Hayes) Gordon. Bob moved to Quincy at the age of 12 where he was raised and graduated from Quincy High School in 1958. He then served in the United States Coast Guard until 1963. Bob also received his Associates degree from Newbury Junior College in 1977.
He was the owner of Gordon Home Improvements Company for 30 years.
He was a resident of Quincy and Braintree for over 40 years and has been living in Middleboro the past 12 years.
He was a trustee at the Quincy United Methodist Church for many years and served as a Board Member of the Quincy Vocational School for several years.
He loved to play tennis and golf.
He is survived by his wife, Judith (Williams) Gordon of Middleboro; his sons, Robert L. Gordon and David Gordon both of NJ; his grandson Cole Gordon of NJ; his brother, Eric Gordon of NJ; his brother-in-law, Robert L. Williams and his wife Judie of Braintree; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Katherine Jaeger.
Funeral Information
Following cremation, a Memorial Gathering will be held in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Thursday, August 29th from 4:00-7:00PM. A Memorial Service will be held in the Bridgewater United Methodist Church, 35 School St., Bridgewater on Friday, August 30th at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
