IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert D.
Henderson
April 9, 2016
HENDERSON, ROBERT D., 67, of Milton, died at his home in Milton on April 9 surrounded by his loving family. A retired human resources executive at the Boston Globe, he taught two generations of editors and corporate executives how to be better managers. In retirement, he was an instructor in golf – his lifetime passion – to hundreds of Boston University students. In life, Mr. Henderson taught everyone he encountered something else: You don’t quit when faced with adversity. He lived with debilitating Crohn’s Disease for all of his adult life, yet his cheerful demeanor – few laughed as frequently or as heartily – was a recurring lesson that life’s setbacks need not darken a person’s mood.
Mr. Henderson was born on July 24, 1948, the son of the late Robert J. Henderson and Katherine N. (Dwyer) Henderson. He leaves his devoted wife, Carol, their loving daughter, Kristin H. Hallisey, her husband Matthew, and his grandchild, Robert “Brooks” Hallisey, all of Milton; his sister, Nancy E. Nicolas of Osterville; his brother, Edward J. Henderson, and his wife Marie Flaherty of Scituate.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 22 at 12:30pm at Thorny Lea Golf Club, 159 Torrey Street, Brockton, where he was a member for 46 years.
