Robert V. LaRue, 89, of Milford passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Plymouth. He was the husband of Janet (Lawson) LaRue.
Born on March 7, 1934 in Brockton, he was the son of the late Eldemore and Ethel (Butler) LaRue. After high school, Robert served in the United States Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve.
Robert worked for Proctor & Gamble for 35 years making Ivory soap. He also worked in maintenance for Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School.
In addition to his wife Janet, Robert is survived by his children Andrew J. LaRue and his wife Maria, John A. LaRue and his wife Deb, the late Brenda LaRue, and Edward J. LaRue and his wife Virginia; his grandchildren Violetta Emma, Charlie, Brandon, Dylan, Josh, Joey, Brian Canfield and Kevin Adams; his stepchildren Linda Canfield, Cynthia Ferreira, Laurie Nabozny, Donald Canfield and Robert Canfield, Jr. Robert is predeceased by his former wife Alice "Sue" LaRue; his sisters Lorraine, Geraldine and Carol; and his brothers Seaman First Class Edward J. LaRue, who died at sea on December 16, 1943 during World War II and Private First Class John A. LaRue of the 351st Infantry, 88th Division, who was killed in action in N. Italy on October 15, 1944.
Visiting hours will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 S. Main St., (Rt.28) West Bridgewater on Wednesday, April 19th from 5:00-8:00 PM. Interment will be held on Thursday, April 20th in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:45 PM.
