Robert J. "Bobby" Mack
, 71, of Brockton, died unexpectedly, Friday, April 11, 2008 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the beloved husband of Janet A. (Knight) Mack.
Born May 20, 1936 in Brockton, he was the son of the late John Mack and Ruth (Murphy) Mack. A lifelong Brockton resident, he attended Brockton Schools. Mr. Mack served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Mack was the Founder and President of Waverly Oil Company of Brockton since 1981.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Randolph, Hundred Club, New England Fuel Institute, Brockton YMCA, Stonehill College Century Club, and served as past Director of the Better Home Heating Council.
Bobby was an avid sports fan and most enjoyed watching Boston College Football. He also enjoyed his summer home in Mashpee.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet A. (Knight) Mack of Brockton; his beloved sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joan and Henri Baum of Canton; his brothers, Alfred Mack and his wife Muriel of North Attleboro and Donald Mack and his wife Janet of Stoughton; his special nephew, Edward Mack of Easton, his godchildren, Theresa Wyatt of TN, Christopher Mack of GA, Beverly Hill of Osterville, and David Mack of CA; ; his close friends, Fred and Natalie Hickey; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Wilson "Sonny" Mack, Joseph Mack, Catherine "Kay" Syrjala, and Lawrence Mack.

Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 16th at 9:00AM thence to St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Tuesday 4:00-8:00PM.
