Robert "Sonny" Sampson, IV Robert "Sonny" Sampson, IV , 21, of Taunton, died unexpectedly, Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, R.I. He was the son of Robert Sampson, III and Shirley (Williams) Sampson. Born July 3, 1989 in Stoughton, Sonny was raised and educated in Brockton. While in school he played basketball and football. He was a starting point guard for Brockton and Taunton High School. He played in the state championship game. His dream was to be an NBA player. He is survived by his parents, Robert Sampson, III of Brockton and Shirley (Williams) Sampson of Taunton; his sisters, Sheena Sampson, Sherelle Sampson, Tamika Lashawn Sampson and Ann Sampson; his two nieces, Zamari L. Sampson and Zakhia M. Sampson. He is also survived by his grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. Funeral Information Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home on Saturday, September 25th from 11:00AM-1:00PM followed by a prayer service in the funeral home at 1:00PM.
