Obituary

Rocco A. Fiumara Captain Rock Rocco passed peacefully on the evening of Sunday December 13th, with loved ones by his side. He is survived by his son Anthony V. Fiumara and Elaine Fiumara, his wife of many years both of Hanson, Massachusetts as well as by several cousins. He is the son of the late Antonio Fiumara and Carmela (Calabrese) Fiumara of Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Rocco had a thirst for knowledge. He was an avid reader and thus became a walking encyclopedia of facts and trivia. His love of the outdoors extended from the Mountain peaks of Vermont to the waters off the coast of Florida and the Caribbean. He loved to camp and fish especially with his son Anthony. In his younger days he was a surfer, riding the waves in Newport. His passion was the ocean. It is only fitting that the ocean will be his final resting place. Rocco enjoyed the simple pleasure of walking the beach, swimming and floating with the dolphins off the coast of Daytona Beach and especially Boating and Scuba Diving. Many of his friends feasted on the bounty of lobsters he would bring back from his diving adventures out of Scituate Harbor and Newport. His one regret was not being able to dive side by side with his son, whom he loved so much. He began his career in the car business at the age of nineteen as a sales person at Best Chevrolet, Desantis Chevrolet and various other dealerships. He eventually advanced to the role of Business Manager a position he held at Copeland Toyota, Hyannis Honda among others. Many referred to Rocco, Rock as Capt. Rock from his time as a ConDUCKtor for Boston Duck Tours. The name stuck and so Capt. Rock will live on. He was a loving father and caring man, a man who touched many lives during his tenure among us. Rest in Peace Rocco! You will be missed by your family and friends. Funeral Information A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt.123) Brockton from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. A memorial service will follow at 1:00PM.
