Roger Earl Lee, 78, of Brockton, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, MA after a lengthy battle of illnesses. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Jane (Coward) Lee, their son, Brandon Michael Lee, and grandson, Christian Ralph Lee.
Roger was the oldest son of the late Allen Lee and Veronica Williams-Lee. To this union six children were born (5 boys and 1 girl): Roger Lee, Sherman Lee (Berkley, MA); Eddie Lee of East Bridgewater, MA; Louise Lee (deceased); Clement Lee (Minnesota) and Clifford Lee (deceased).
Roger was well-known and respected in the city of Brockton as a businessman, barber, and funtime guy. He was among the first African-American business owners in the city of champions. As owner of "The Hair Shack", Roger maintained many longtime relationships and customers. He was affectionately called "Lee" when spoken to and about. Known for his sense of humor and his ferocious affection for his wife Nancy, Roger maintained a strong presence wherever he was. Roger enjoyed fishing, travelling, and maximizing the return on his money, as well as listening to his old school music.
He also leaves to cherish his memories his children, Karen Lee (Wisconsin), Tina Lee (Boston), Valerie Lee, -cha special cousin and God-child, Yvette Key; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends. He was also the father of the late Roger Lee and Lisa Shanks.
Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Wednesday, March 14th from 3:00-5:00PM followed by a funeral service in the Funeral Home at 5:00PM. Cremation will follow.
