St. Hilaire, of Brockton February 12, 2006, Roland A. St. Hilaire, 83 years. Husband of Rita L. (Beliveau) St. Hilaire, father of Madeleine Whidden and her husband Arthur of Middleboro and Janine Donnelly and her husband Arthur of Leeds, Maine, grandfather of Lee and Brian Whidden and Tamara Ingraham and brother of Claire Erp of Oregon.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 10am. Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church, W. Bridgewater at 11am. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, at 1pm. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-7pm.
Obituary
Roland A. St. Hilaire, died Sunday evening at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Brockton, son of the late Telesphore and Diana (Deshais) St. Hilaire, he had been a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart School and Brockton High School class of 1941. Roland was a Navy Veteran of WWII who served on the USS Ancon. He had been employed in the Dry Cleaning industry for many years retiring from Anton Cleaners. He had been a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church. He enjoyed bingo, playing cards, dancing and music.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Rita L. (Beliveau) St. Hilaire, two daughters Madeleine Whidden and her husband Arthur of Middleboro and Janine Donnelly and her husband Arthur of Leeds, Maine, three grandchildren Lee and Brian Whidden and Tamara Ingraham, one sister Claire Erp of Oregon, and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Rose Bussiere, and Ralph, Paul, Edward and Victor St. Hilaire.
