Obituary

Ronald Raphael Deas, Jr. was born on September 18, 1967, in Brockton, Massachusetts. He was the first child born to Ronald Raphael Deas, Sr., and Belinda Taylor (Nee Cabrera). Raphael passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital after a battle with COVID-19 virus. Raphael attended English High School in Boston, MA. In October 1998 Raphael married Nichole March and they are the loving parents to four children, Ronald Raphael Deas, III, Bethany, Taylor, and Angeline. During his life, an avid New England sports fan Raphael was very active in the music industry. From a young age telling his mom that "Janice Joplin sang so hard!" he never stopped talking about the history of music. To quote his "Homework" band members on their official Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/homeworktheband "A man with a true heart of gold, always with a sense of humor; never hesitating to express himself fully as we laughed, debated, and loved everything about music, life itself, and friendships. Our years together as HOMEWORK bandmates was a uniquely magical, once in a lifetime experience that few on this planet ever experience. Starting with a dream, signing with a label, releasing an album, charting a single with radio and video; then, as all our dreams were coming true, we toured with our brothers, the New Kids On The Block, playing our music in front of thousands. Raphael's unique approach within our band was entirely his own. It helped to shape our on-stage sound, and look --- yet, somehow 'Raph' still managed to transcend it all, with even more of his own distinctive stylings and quintessential C-O-O-L!" --HOMEWORK was Established by Maurice Starr 1988–1992 Raphael leaves behind many loving memories. He is survived by his father, Ronald Raphael Sr., and Step-Mother, Carla; his Mother, Belinda Taylor; brother Manuel, nieces, Destiny, Desiree; and Kristy Deas; and his step-sister Darci MacDonald of Pembroke; and step-brother Adam McCullough of Rockland. He also leaves behind his loving wife of 23 years, Nichole March Deas, and four children, Ronald Raphael Deas, III (30) (girlfriend, Aisha West), Bethany (22), Taylor (20), and Angeline (19). He leaves behind many cousins, aunts, uncles and many long-time friends. He was nurtured by a deep faith in God; his passion for music; and his Cape Verdean and Apache Native American heritage.
