Obituary

Akeke, of Brockton, March 23, 2003, Rose Akeke, 80 years. Sister of Mary Akeke and Susie Sebilian both of Brockton. Aunt of Richard Ferris, Marie Bevis, Peter Akeke, Roseann O’Connor, Cindy Conrad, George and Joseph Sebilian and the late Martin Akeke.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 8am. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Tuesday 4-8pm.

Obituary Information

Miss Akeke died Sunday morning at the Braemoor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. Born in Brockton she was a daughter of the late Peter and Sadie (Norman) Akeke. She attended Brockton schools, and had been employed by the shoe and garment industry in Brockton, including Al’s Sportswear, for many years. She had been a lifelong member of the VFW Auxillary Post 1046, working on numerous projects over the years. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Union, a communicant of St. Patrick Church and former communicant of St. Theresa Maronite Church.

She is survived by two sisters Mary Akeke and Susie Sebilian both of Brockton and her nieces and nephews Richard Ferris, Marie Bevis, Peter Akeke, Roseann O’Connor, Cindy Conrad, George and Joseph Sebilian and 11 great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Husep Akeke, Ferris Akeke and Nora Rodophele and aunt of the late Martin Akeke.
