Rose M. (Berger) Spadea
, 91, of Brockton, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. She was the wife of the late John M. Spadea, Jr.
Born December 13, 1918 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Frank E. Berger and Emma Florence (LaMoutagne)(Berger) Farnham. Raised in Brockton she graduated from Brockton High School.
Mrs. Spadea worked for Bradlees Department Store in the Fine Jewelry Department for over 18 years and she had also worked as a stitcher for Stahl Dean Clothing for several years.
Rose was a lifelong resident of Brockton and she enjoyed shopping, knitting, word puzzles and music. She enjoyed her trip to Hawaii and Vegas. She was always nicely dressed and enjoyed looking forward to getting her hair done. Her favorite color was pink. Rose especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson on Saturdays, family birthday parties and family celebrations.
She is survived by her son, John M. Spadea and his wife Cathy of North Easton; her grandson, Michael J. Spadea. She was the sister of the late Hazel Burke, Edith Pappas, Alice Chandler, Marie Berger and Bertha Hume.
Rose's family would like to thank the staff of the Vineyard Unit at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater for their love and care shown towards Rose over the years.
Funeral Information
A private funeral service was held on Monday, September 13th in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton. Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
