Rosemarie A. Rodrigue (80), a lifelong resident of Brockton, MA, died on February 12, 2020. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Leandre Rodrigue; her four children Leanne Bright, Carol Rodenhiser, Richard Rodrigue, and Nicole Drinkwater; her son-in-laws Kurt Rodenhiser and Barry Drinkwater; and her grandchildren Oliver-John Bright, Jessica Rodenhiser, Nathaniel Bright, Violet Drinkwater, Bailey Drinkwater, and Sophia Drinkwater.
Rosemarie grew up splitting her time between Brockton and Bridgewater on Lake Nippenicket. Daughter of Eleonor and William Podzon, she is also survived by her older brother William Podzon and younger sister Carol Welch.
Rosemarie, who was fondly known as Pinky by her friends, coworkers, and family, worked for 42 years as a seamstress for The Stall & Dean Manufacturing Co. making professional sports uniforms for the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, and other NHL and professional baseball teams. She designed and made Bobby Orr's retirement shirt that hung in the Boston Garden until it's closure in 1998.
After being retired for only one year, Rosemarie was sought out by the owner of Pop Tops Sportswear for her expertise in making hockey uniforms. She accepted a position with the company and happily worked there for the next eight years.
Rosemarie was an energetic, funny, and creative individual loved by all. She was an amazing mother, nana, aunt, sister, wife, daughter, and friend. One of her main goals in life was to send all of her children to college, which she proudly achieved. She will be forever missed and left a legacy of love that will never be matched.
Her wake will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020, from 3:00-7:00 PM at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home in Brockton, MA. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at 10:00 AM at Christ the King Parish in Brockton, MA.
Rosemarie was a regular donor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude's in her name.
