Brother of David Varrieur of Bridgewater, William Varrieur of Maryland, John Varrieur of N. Carolina, Polly Varrieur of Georgia and the late Raymond Varrieur. He also leaves his devoted golden retriever Rosie.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery,W. Bridgewater. Obituary
Roy V. Varrieur, 78 years died unexpectedly Monday morning at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after being stricken ill at his home. He was the husband of the late Mary Lorraine (Best) Varrieur. Born in Orlando, Florida he moved to Brockton as a child. He was the son of the late Joseph R. and Emma (Lucier) Varrieur. He attended Brockton schools and was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1946. For many years he was the proprietor of General Auto Body in Brockton. He was a longtime member and current treasurer of the Brockton Towing Association, and was a lifetime member of the Brockton YMCA. His interests were woodworking, gardening, breeding roses and enjoyed time with his dog Rosie. In his younger years he was very active in St. Edward’s Parish.
He is survived by his daughter Patricia L. Varrieur of Brockton, three brothers David Varrieur of Bridgewater, William Varrieur of Maryland and John Varrieur of N. Carolina, one sister Polly Varrieur of Georgia and his devoted golden retriever Rosie and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was the father of the late Joseph R. Varrier and brother of the late Raymond Varrieur.
