Obituary

Rupert “Dougie” Wellington, age 84, of Brockton, formerly of Kingston, Jamaica, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Saint Elizabeth Medical Center, in Brighton. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret “Madge” (Hayden) Wellington.
Born and raised in Trelawny, Jamaica, he was the son of the late Owen Wellington and Eva Young.

Dougie worked as a miller at Jamaica Flour Mills Limited for over twenty years before retiring in 1996.
Rupert was an amazing father. He was loving, humorous, kind, protective, supportive, always had a positive outlook, and was full of life. His family brought him so much joy in life.

He leaves his three children, Debbie-Ann, Karen and Ian all of Brockton; a brother, Leslie Thomas, of Kingston, Jamaica; seven loving grandchildren, Rhonda, Devonte, Phylissa, Kiarra, Devin, Rian, and Cain; and two great grandchildren, Bryson and Tyler.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Rupert’s family on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 9:00 to 10:00 am, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 am, in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery.
