Russell J. Fitch, 83, of Halifax passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Joyce A. (Spirida) Fitch. Born August 7, 1937 in Port Carbon, PA, he was the son of the late Russell O. and Edna (Wanamaker) Fitch. Russell proudly served in the U.S. Army and retired after thirty-eight years from the Brockton VA Medical Center facilities department. He fondly referred to his job as being a "stripper". In addition to his wife Joyce he is survived by his children, Russell (Rusty), Eileen and her spouse Nicky C., and Kelli and her spouse Beth; grandchild, Malia and her spouse Donald; their children, Layla, Riley, Jaxson; and Aidan(whom he considered a great grandchild); brothers, Bobby and Tommy(who pre-deceased him) and a sister-in-law, Diane Maddigan and her spouse Jimmy. A memorial service and interment will be held on Monday, February 8th at 12:30PM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
