Obituary

Ruth E. (Holmes) Ford, age 98, of Brockton, died peacefully April 19, 2014 at West Acres Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Russell B. Ford. Ruth was born and raised in Middletown, CT, daughter of the late Albert E. and Addie B. (Harris) Holmes. She was a graduate of Middletown High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Connecticut College for Women. Ruth had been a resident of Brockton for the past 65 years and was a longtime and active member of Christ Congregational Church; enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and sewing. For many years she and her husband enjoyed summers in Harspwell, Maine and traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.

Ruth is survived by her son Douglas R. Ford and his wife Deborah of Brockton; two grandsons, Scott Ford and his wife Kelly and Brett Ford and his wife Katie and her great grandson Brennan.

Funeral Services were held this morning followed by her burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Arrangements by Conley Funeral Home, Brockton.
