Obituary

Ruth Christina (Gibris) Pettee, age 89, of Brockton, died peacefully at St. Joseph Manor, January 22, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward V. Pettee. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late William and Nellie Gibris and had been a resident of Brockton since 1957. Upon her arrival in in Brockton she was employed as a stock clerk at the Brockton Hospital, retiring in 1970. Later she went back to work full time in the Thom Hospital, Waltham, as a health aide. She was a resident of Chatham West Apartments for over 30 years where she had many friends.
Ruth is survived by her step-children; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and a nephew.
A funeral service will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday, January 26, at 11am. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Rockland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Nursing Home, 215 Thatcher Street, Brockton, MA 02302.
