Obituary

Ruth M. (Christianson) Piesco age 96 of Easton died Monday April 2, 2018 at the home of her daughter after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late “Matey” Piesco for 64 years.

Ruth was born and raised in Brockton the daughter of the late Carl and Ina (Clark) Christianson and was a 1939 graduate of Brockton High School. She had lived most of her life in Brockton before retiring to Ft. Myers, Florida in 1980. Ruth returned to the Brockton area in 2007.

Ruth and Matey founded Piesco Sporting Goods of Brockton in 1946 where she served as the treasurer until her retirement in 1980. Prior to her marriage, she was a bookkeeper at the Brockton Enterprise. Ruth loved the sun, traveling and reading and any of those activities were enjoyed even more with her family.

Ruth is survived by her two daughters; Cheryl Piesco and her husband Gary Farina of Mashpee and Nancy Piesco and her husband Robert Putnam of Quincy. She leaves four grandchildren Lisa Cleary of Hanover, Mark Domenicucci of Norton, Gregory Piesco-Putnam of San Francisco, CA and David Piesco-Putnam of Chestnut Hill; two great-grandchildren Dan Mooney and Mitch Mooney and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday April 7, 2018 at the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton from 10am-12 noon with a funeral service following at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth’s name can be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. 309 Waverley Oak Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
