Obituary

Ruth M. ”Rookie” (Hauswirth) Paull, age 62 of Brockton, formerly of South Boston, died peacefully, March 21, 2015 at South Shore Hospital. She was the beloved wife for 44 years of Edward J. ‘Pope” Paull. Born in Boston and raised in South Boston, she was the daughter of the late Ruth (Varley) Hauswirth. Rookie was a 1970 graduate of South Boston High School and had been employed by Verizon for over 20 years as an Administrative Assistant in the Accounting Department. She was a member of Verizon’s IBEW Local 2222. Her family and grandchildren were her life. She also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and attending shows in Boston and Las Vegas. Rookie was outgoing, selfless and always willing to help others. She had a great love for animals and was known to take in many strays in the neighborhood.
Rookie is also survived by two sons Edward Paull, Jr. and his wife Robin and Michael Paull and his wife Keri all of Brockton; six grandchildren Kyle, Korey, Michael Jr., Anthony, Madison and Rylie. She was the sister of Deborah Shamburg of Middleboro, Darlene Cummings of Abington, Jean Wright of Quincy, Edward Hauswirth of Brockton and the late Elizabeth “Betsy” Hauswirth.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Tuesday 4-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Wednesday at 8am for a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
